New pitching event and project-based seminar aimed at helping New Talents who have completed their education to improve and accelerate their access to the audiovisual and digital markets.

CARTOON Springboard is a new pitching event where young talents of European animation schools will be able to pitch their project in front of a panel of experts from the audiovisual world

How does it work?

The 2 1/2 days will focus on:
• Didactic presentations by key animation players (broadcasters, distributors, producers, digital players).
• Pitches made by animation young talents coming from all over Europe.

Who can present a project?
•European young talents who want to develop and test their new animation project or property for the international
market and/or to be distributed on several screens (360 approach).
• Young talents who have graduated from animation schools for a maximum of 5 years.

What kind of project?
• a TV Special (minimum 26 minutes)
• a TV series
• a feature film (minimum 60 minutes)
• an animated project dedicated to cross-media
• short films are NOT accepted


Scholarships: Special offer for participants from East Europe
If you are a citizen of one of the following countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia & Ukraine), you should apply for a scholarship !
There is no registration fee, accommodation (3 nights) and travel expenses (up to 200€) are offered to the successful applicants.

Applicants will have to:
Submit their project by 5th October at the latest specifying their country of origin through our online form (My Cartoon > My Projects > Cartoon Springboard > Submit a new project).
Fill in and send us the scholarship form by Friday 12th October at the latest.
Note: Should your project be accepted by the Springboard Selection committee (on mid-October), your scholarship request will automatically be validated.

No project or not eligible but interested in attending ?
Cartoon Springboard is also open to all professionals who want to improve their knowledge about how to pitch a project. This is also a great opportunity to meet other professionals (producers, broadcasters, games...) from all over Europe.

Important Dates:

  • 5 October Closing date for project submission.
  • 12 October Young talents will be informed whether their project has been selected.
  • 19 October Participants registration deadline (with project).
  • 26 October Schedule of the project pitches.. CARTOON will send you the day and time of your pitching session.
  • 9 November Closing date for the submission of technical form (PowerPoints, videos, etc.).
  • 12 November Participants registration deadline (without project).
  • 4-6 December Cartoon Springboard in Valenciennes, France.
