Best Animation Feature
A film will be classed as an animated feature film if it is primarily animated throughout the majority of the length of the film and has a significant number of animated major characters. This award will not usually be presented if fewer than eight animated features have been entered. The number of nominations will be between three and five, at the discretion of the Film Committee and dependent on number of entries.
Films must have been available to the UK public for the first time in the UK between 1 January 2018 and 8 February 2019.
Films are not eligible if they:
Feature films from all countries are eligible in all categories, with the exception of Outstanding British Film, and Outstanding Debut, which are for British films only.
British Animation Short
Animated short films first shown on television may be accepted for entry for the Film Awards if they have been screened at either a recognised animation festival or a recognised film institution.
The short film categories are open to films which have significant creative involvement by individuals who are British (UK passport holders or permanently resident in the UK for at least ten years up to and including the eligibility period).
Films must have been completed between 1 June 2017 and 26 October 2018.
The maximum running time, including end credits, is 40 minutes.
Films in a language other than English must be submitted with English subtitles.
