For the 2019 edition of Animatou Festival, Poland – a country boasting pristine forests, dreamy natural landscapes and, incidentally, a huge standing in animation – is this year’s country of honour

Call for entries:

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Requirements:
1) Films completed after: 31st December 2017 (from January 2018)
2) Maximum duration: 50 minutes
3) Country of production: All countries
4) Screening format: ProRes, H264, DCP (as backup only)
5) Accepted genres: Animation (all genres)
6) Language & Subtitles: Films with dialogues in a language other than French should be subtitled, ideally in French or possibly in English.
7) Selection announcement: end of July, by email

The selected films compete in one or more of the following international sections and for the following awards:
- International Competition, Animatou Main Award: CHF 3,000
- International Competition for Animated Short Documentaries, Animatou «Doc'Anim» Award: CHF 1,000
- International Competition for Animated Experimental Shorts, Centre d'Art Contemporain Genève «Labo» Award: CHF 1,000
- International Competition for Young Audience Award: CHF 1,000
- Geneva University Hospitals - Belle-Idée Honorary Public Award
- Geneva University Hospitals - ARToPie Honorary Teens Award
- Caramel & Pistacchio programmes for toddlers: Honorary Caramel & Pistacchio Awards.

Final deadline: May 10, 2019

SWISS ANIMATION
Only Swiss films are considered for the Swiss Competition. The official origin of the film is determined by the production company or entity. Animatou only requires that the director or one of the (co-)production entities be a Swiss national or based in Switzerland for a film to qualify as Swiss and be considered to participate in the Swiss Competition.


Final deadline: May 10, 2019
Notification of results: July 26, 2019

- Swiss Competition, «Taurus Studio» Award for Best Swiss Soundtrack: a 2-day recording session at Taurus Studio, Geneva.
Swiss films may also be be selected to participate in the various international competitions.
