Animators can apply to the residency program for media artists in Japan. See details.

Jacky De Groen, Johan Rijpma and Lilian Vazquez are the three Animation Artists in Residence, Tokyo 2016.

Once more the JAPIC programme helps animators in their early stage of their career to have a Tokyo residency and complete an animation project.

 

 This project, organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan (Bunka-cho), is an artist in residence program that provides three outstanding young animation artists from around the world with an opportunity to come to Tokyo and create new works while directly interacting with Japanese animation culture. It aims to promote both the creation of excellent works of animation and a better understanding of Japanese culture.

3 applicants will be selected to stay in Tokyo for 70 days between January 7th and March 17th, 2016, and create a short animation project.

Alex Grigg, Anna Budanova, and Natalia Chernysheva are the animators selected for the Animation Artists in Residence programme in Tokyo.

Japan Image Council is launching the International Invitation Program for Animation Artists for 2015, "Animation Artist in Residence".

3 European arists were selected for the 2014 International Invitation Program for Animation Artists, "Animation Artist in Residence" by the Japan Image Councils. Read more details.
