anifilm-logo-2016Anifilm's mission in Trebon, Czech Republic is to present current trends, methods, technologies and animation techniques in its programme.

It also supports works in progress and brand new animation projects and their authors, producers and distributors.

In its 3-8 May 2016 edition, Anifilm focuses on Spanish cinema that has in recent years produced a number of very successful feature films.
With the generic title, "From Doodles to Pixels" – Focus on Spai the festival screens the stop-motion feature Pos Eso by SAM (the 2015 festival winner).

Javier Mariscal, director of the Oscar-nominated Chico & Rita, and Anifilm 2016 jury member, will acquaint the audiences with the techniques he used while portraying period Cuba.

Spanish Animation professional Carolina López has prepared a programme recapitulating various phenomena from the history of Spanish animation.

Her presentation maps the very beginnings of the country's animated cinema from the beginning of the 20th century (e.g. Segundo de Chomóna, among other things), continues through modern influences from the 1960's and award-winning art films to the phenomena of the new millennium – the work of authors who followed up their success in Spain and joined big American studios (e.g. Charlie Ramos).
