Call for entries

Only films released between January 2017 and 2018 can be selected for competition programmes. Films with dialogues in a language other than French should have subtitles, ideally in French or possibly in English.

Competitions for films:

  • International Competition: Animatou Main Award
  • International Competition for Best Animated Documentary: Animatou Doc'Anim Award
  • International Competition for Best Animated Experimental Short: Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève Award
  • Swiss Competition: Public Award for Best Swiss Short Film
  • Swiss Competition: Taurus Studio Award for Best Swiss Soundtrack
  • International Competition for Young Audience: Radio Television Suisse (RTS) Award

Festival Awards:

  • ANIMATOU Main Award, given by a jury of professionals to the best animated short in the International Competition: CHF3,000
  • ANIMATOU Doc'AnimAward, given by a jury of professionals to the best film in the International Competitionfor Best Animated Documentary Short : CHF 1,000
  • CENTRE D’ART CONTEMPORAIN GENEVE Labo Award, given by a jury of professionals to the best film in theInternational Competitionfor Best Animated Experimental Short: CHF 1,000
  • Public Award, given by vote of the audience to the best animated short in the Swiss Competition: CHF 3,000
  • TAURUS STUDIO Award for Best Soundtrack (music & sound effects)in the Swiss Competition: a two-day recording session at Taurus Studio, Geneva.
  • RTS Young Audience Award, given by vote of the public aged below 14 to the best animated short in the International Competitionfor Young Audience (a selection from the International Competition): purchase of the film by Radio Television Suisse for broadcasting in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
  • HUG – Belle-Idée Public Award: Geneva University Hospitals – Belle-Idée Honorary Prize, given by vote of the audience to the best animated short in a selection from the International Competition.
  • HUG – Belle-Idée Teens Award: Geneva University Hospitals Honorary Prize, given by vote of the teenagers present at the screening to the best animated short in a selection from the International Competition.

There is no submission fee.
