Oh, Willy , Ernest and Celestine win at Stuttgart 2013

 On Sunday evening, April 28, 2013, at 8 pm in the Stuttgart cinema Gloria the 20th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film presented the winners of the competitions.

The jury has judged approx. 1000 high-quality animated films in the competition categories, and handed out 65.000 euros to films in the nine competition categories. 

The multiply-awarded Oh, Willy  (Emma de Swaef, Marc James Roels, Belgium/France/The Netherlands) won the Grand Prix of the International Competition, and 15.000 Euro, sponsored by the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg and the City of Stuttgart.

The Lotte Reiniger Award Promotion for Animated film was given to KARA NO TAMAGO (A Wind Egg, Japan) by Ryo Okawara, whereas the SWR Audience award was handed out to Hisko Hulsing's hypnotic Junkyard (The Netherlands).

 Best student film for the Estonian Breakfast on the glass (Erik Alunurm, Mari Pakkas, Mari Liis Rebane, Mihkel Reha), and best feature film (AniMovie award) to the César-awarded Ernest & Celestine (Benjamin Renner, Stéphane Aubier, Vincent Patar, France).

 The Tricks for Kids Award for the best children’s animated film was given to “SCHRECKEN OHNE ENDE” (Nearest and Dearest) by  Michael Sieber, & Max Stöhr (Germany), and the award for best the best animated series for children to Alan Shannon's Roy: Foot Fat Fit (Ireland).

A separate series of awards had already been awarded in the field of applied animation (see the winners of the Animated Com Award).

The 20th edition the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (23-28 April 2013) boasts an attendance rate of 80.000 people, and solidifies its position as one of the indispensable animation festivals in Europe.
