Zbig Rybczynski at Be there! Corfu Animation Festival

The Oscar-awarded Polish director (and graduate of the famous Lodz school in Poland) has estabished himself as a leading figure in HD animation. His 1980 film, Tango, presents a series of life stages told uniquely through 36 persons inhabiting the same room. Rybczynski's technique has led to a retelling of the famous sequence in Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin (Steps 1987).

Rybczynksi is responsible for many pop videos during the 80s, including Alive and Kicking (Simple Minds) and Opportunites (Pet Shop Boys).

Zbig Rybczynski will present a masterclass at Be there! Corfu Animation Festival The Art of making Modern Image-Creation and production of Visual Special Effects in Cinema.

His Emmy-awarded film, The Orchestra, will also be part of the screening program.



Be there! Corfu Animation Festival takes place in Corfu, Greece, from 7-10 April 2011.
