Bruno Bozzetto prepares Viavai

bruno-bozzetto The Italian satirist animator and director Bruno Bozzetto announces his first full-length picture in 36 years.

 

As first reported in Hollywood Reporter, the animated film Viavai will be set in a future where traffic problems are far worse than today. In the story, the "Viavia" is an invention that allows people who move around despite the debilitating traffic.

 

The 73-year-old director has become known since his 1976 accomplished  feature-length satire (and an answer to Disney's Fantasia) Allegro non troppo. He was nominated for an Oscar in 1990 with his short Grasshoppers.

 

No more details regarding production or even release details have surfaced regarding Viavai.

 

UPDATE (28 May 2013) According to Bozzetto's site,  the "Viavai" screenplay has been completed, and is presented to media as an ambitious 3D animation project.
