Anima 2014, Brussels: Call for submissions

Anima 2014, Brussels launches call for entries.


The 33rd edition of Anima, Brussels Cartoon and Animated Film Festival, will take place in Brussels, Belgium from February, 28th to March, 9th 2014.


The competitive categories, which include animated films completed after the 30th of June 2012 regardless of their geographic origin, are the following:

  • Short-film previews: short animated films;
  • Student film: short animated films;
  • Children's short film: short animated films;
  • Music videos and Commercials: short animated films;
  • Feature film previews: animated feature films;
  • Feature film for children previews: animated feature films;
  • Belgian shorts: Belgian animated films;
  • Short-film previews "The Animation Night": short animated films.

Apart from the official categories mentioned above, there will be the so-called Information Category, which will include special programmes, documentaries, tributes as well as retrospectives.


 Furthermore, films which do not use frame by frame techniques but are considered to be of interest within the festival programming context may be screened.


The deadline for filling in the application form is the 1st of October, 2013 and the deadline for the arrival of films, in case of selection, is the 17th of January 17, 2014. No entry fee is required.
