New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival takes place in The New Chitose Airport, as a gateway for the world to access Hokkaido, the northern landmass of Japan, hosting a multi-screen movie theater,
In its 3rd edition, the festival invites films completed after 1/1/2014 (with a run time not exceeding 30 minutes) to submit to the competition.
The festival features the following three competition categories:
(A) International Competition
Submissions will be sorted into the relevant category based on judgment by the Festival Office and Selection Committee members. Submissions may be selected for more than one of the categories
Last year the festival accepted more than 1,100 films from 59 countries/regions. Teeth, directed by Tom Brown and Daniel Gray, won the Grand Prix and Zdravstvuite!, directed by Yoko Yuki, got Japan Grand Prix.
