Wrinkles (Arrugas) gets 11 nominations in the Spanish Goyas

The Spanish feature-length animated film is a tender story of senior residents in a caring home (review), and is directed by Ignacio Ferreras.

Wrinkles (Arrugas) was nominated for best animated film, best new director (Ignacio Ferreras), adapted screenplay (Ángel de la Cruz, Ignacio Ferreras, Paco Roca, Rosanna Cecchini), photography (David Cubero), soundtrack (Nani Garcia), art direction (Paco Roca), editing (Gemma Gasso), production supervision (Helena Fortuny), special effects (Edu León), but also as best Spanish Film.

Note that the Goya awards seem not to have barriers between animation and live-action films. People working in the animation films may be nominated in categories where their colleagues from live-action films traditionally secure a place (nothing like the Academy Awards).

Wrinkles has been officially submitted for the 84th Academy Awards' best animated film.
