CEE Animation is an umbrella of regional activities for promotion and development of the animation and its talents in more than 20 countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The objective of CEE Animation is to raise the competencies of professionals and give them equal access to financing and the markets as their Western peers, by fostering co-production and sustainable business models.
2020 Event Coverage
Due to the pandemic, CEE Animation, international platform for film professional not only from Central and Eastern Europe will be taking place online. The core of the event will traditionally be the CEE Animation Forum, a competition of animated projects in development. Classic categories of short film, series/TV Special and feature film will newly be complemented by a category for VR projects. Even though the event will be held online, film professionals visiting Anifilm will be able to watch the pitching of all categories live in the festival centre in Chateau Liberec. The event will be screened on Tuesday 6th October and Wednesday 7th October in the morning.

CEE Animation Forum (5–8 May, Liberec, Czech Republic) is a co-production pitching, B2B and networking event with the intention to boost the projects´ international circulation potential, visibility and their access to a wider European market. For its 2020 edition, the organisers have expanded the number of categories open to animated projects in development. . *An animated project is a project in which at least 50% of the film under consideration is executed using animation film technology or takes the form of multimedia audio-visual work with emphasis on the graphical aspect.
Only producers or other project rights holders can submit projects. The producer and director of the submitted project must be citizens of the EU or of the countries listed below */ (CEE Animation is supported by European funds and must conform to their regulations).
Both, producer and director must present the project in person at the CEE Animation Forum held 5 – 8 May 2020 in Liberec (Czech Republic).
There is no registration fee for submitting your application. Upon selection of the project fees apply as it follows:
The fee includes accommodation (twin room) for 2 participants for max. 3 nights, 2 accreditations for CEE Animation Forum 2020 and the International Festival of Animated Films Anifilm 2020 and the transport Prague – Liberec – Prague (if needed).

In projects where one or more authors are not EU citizens, the assessment whether the work meets EU criteria will be made. In case EU regulations are not met, the project will be refused.
In addition to the main pitching competition, the three-day programme offers a number of presentations, debates, networking opportunities, 1:1 meetings and screenings. At the Forum, animation professionals can acquire skills and know-how from other experts from the field as well as useful contacts that will contribute to making their animated project a success.

CEE Animation is supported by the Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union and co-funded by state funds and foundations and professional organisations from Slovenia (DSAF, Slovene Animated Film Association), Czech Republic (ASAF, Association of Czech Animation), Hungary (HAPA, Hungarian Animation Producers Association), Poland (SPPA, Polish Animation Producers Association) and Slovakia (APAF, Slovak Association of Animated Film Producers).
