Paul Bush, Joanna Quinn and Gerd Jockell teach animation in an 8-week training programme.

Animation Development Course Cuba is an eight week programme for developing short independent animation from initial story idea to pre-production. The course will run from 14 January until 15 March 2019.

Based at the famous Cuban film school EIC-TV at San Antonio de los Baños, outside Havana, this course is designed for animation directors, who wish to have professional support to develop a short film. Professional directors and designers will help guide the participants through story development, design, storyboarding and animatic.

Participants will also be encouraged to take part in the life of the film school, attend the film screening and lecture programmes that take place every evening and engage with other students.

Course structure:

  • Week 4-5 Joanna Quinn teaching design and storyboarding
  • Week 7-8 Gerd Gockell teaching editing animatics and preparing for production (PB assisting in week 8)
