'Yuck!', 'Flow' Win at the French César Awards

Two Oscar-nominated films also triumphed in the 50th edition of the French César Awards, which honor French accomplishments in filmmaking.

The French co-produced 'Flow' by Gints Zilbalodis won another award in his round of international and festival awards. The cat's story on the boat secured the French trophy for the director and the French producer Ron Dyens (Sacrebleu Productions).

The other nominees:

  • La Plus Precieuse des merchandise / The Most Precious of Cargoes, dir. Michel Hazanavicius (Patrick Sobelman, Florence Gastaud, Michel Hazanavicius)
  • Sauvages, dir. Claude Barras (French producers: Laurence Petit, Barbara Letellier, Carole Scotta)

In the short animation category, the 36-year-old Loic Espuche was the winner with the delightful 'Beurk! / Yuck!' (production: Juliette Marquet, Manon Messiant). The pinkish-colored film tells the story of the first kiss, which originates from an initially disgusting attitude growing up to bliss.
